Marisquería Norte Sur Doctor Castelo 21 (Madrid, España) por In Out Studio. Un nuevo restaurante firmado por Nayra Iglesias y su equipo acaba de inaugurarse en el barrio madrileño de El Retiro. Situado en la Calle Doctor Castelo 21 es el segundo restaurante que el estudio diseña para la conocida cadena de Marisquerías Norte Sur.
El planteamiento inicial de la reforma fue diseñar un pequeño y sofisticado espacio con dos ambientes, zona de barra y restaurante, que transportase al cliente al interior de un singular camarote.
La fachada del restaurante ha sido realizada íntegramente en acero inoxidable siguiendo un divertido juego geométrico, sello de identidad de la renovada imagen que In Out Studio ha diseñado para la cadena de marisquerías.
En el interior, la fusión de materiales nobles e industriales y la mezcla de estilos clásico y contemporáneo, permiten reinterpretar el interior del camarote de un barco mediante el uso de chapa ondulada, hierro y madera.
La iluminación del restaurante Norte Sur Doctor Castelo es una de las partes más relevantes de la intervención. Los letreros de neón, los divertidos apliques de pared y una gran luminaria en forma de erizo sumergen al espectador en un onírico sueño con sabor a mar.
El primer ambiente del restaurante es la zona de tapeo protagonizada por la barra y el uso de una trama geométrica que establece un divertido orden en paredes y techos. Este patrón geométrico combinado con notas de color y texturas, ayuda a crear un ambiente relajado y marca la diferencia entre el espacio de tapeo y el restaurante.
En la zona de barra destaca el juego creado entre materiales opuestos como el latón, el mármol blanco de la encimera o la chapa metálica ondulada que envuelve gran parte de sus paredes. Este espacio se caracteriza por su carácter más industrial y sobrio, con predominio de las superficies metálicas y colores fríos.
Por el contrario, en la zona de restaurante se crea un ambiente más acogedor y sofisticado con predominio de materiales cálidos como los paneles de madera de roble que le confieren propiedades acústicas a este espacio. La poesía recorre el interior de este camarote a través de un elemento lineal metálico que impregna de historias marinas las paredes del restaurante.
Desde la fachada hasta la cocina abierta, la marisquería Norte Sur Doctor Castelo se presenta como un inusual espacio gastronómico que sorprende con un interiorismo fresco y arriesgado.

A new restaurant signed by Nayra Iglesias and her team has just opened in the Madrid’s neighborhood, El Retiro. Located on Calle Doctor Castelo 21 is the second restaurant that the studio designs for the well-known chain of Marisquerias Norte Sur.
The initial approach of the reform was to design a small and sophisticated space with two spaces, bar area and restaurant, to transport the customer inside a unique cabin.
The facade of the restaurant has been entirely made of stainless steel following a fun geometric game, the hallmark of the renewed image that In Out Studio has designed for the seafood chain.
Inside, the fusion of noble and industrial materials and the mix of classic and contemporary styles, allow reinterpreting the interior of a ship’s stateroom through the use of corrugated iron and wood. The lighting of the restaurant Norte Sur Doctor Castelo is one of the most relevant parts of the intervention. Neon signs, funny wall sconces and a large hedgehog-shaped luminaire immerse the viewer into a dreamy ocean-like dream.
The first atmosphere of the restaurant is the area of tapas starring the bar and the use of a geometric plot that establishes a fun order on walls and ceilings. This geometric pattern combined with notes of color and textures, helps to create a relaxed atmosphere and marks the difference between the space of tapas and the restaurant.
In the bar area stands out the game created between opposing materials such as brass, white marble on the countertop or the corrugated metal sheet that wraps most of its walls. This space is characterized by its more industrial and sober, with predominance of metallic surfaces and cold colors.
In other side, the restaurant area creates a more welcoming and sophisticated environment with a predominance of warm materials such as oak wood panels that give acoustic properties to this space.
From the façade to the open kitchen, the Norte Sur Doctor Castelo seafood restaurant presents itself as an unusual gastronomic space that surprises with a fresh and risky interior design.
