El Museo del Terremoto (acr\u00f3nimo italiano \u00abMuTerr\u00bb) est\u00e1 ubicado en un espacio subterr\u00e1neo del Convento de Santo Domingo en Soriano, Provincia de Vibo Valentia (Regi\u00f3n de Calabria, sur de Italia). habiendo contado con el importante apoyo de muchos papas, cardenales y los reyes de Espa\u00f1a y N\u00e1poles.<\/p>\n<p>Desde 1654, la \u00abCasa Santa\u00bb ha administrado el condado de Soriano y, por lo tanto, su esfera de influencia econ\u00f3mica, cultural y social ha contribuido en gran medida al desarrollo de las zonas aleda\u00f1as y asentamientos.<\/p>\n<p>Internamente el complejo contaba con una casa de hu\u00e9spedes, una farmacia, una imprenta y una biblioteca bien surtida, la cual a\u00fan existe y contiene muchos vol\u00famenes de prestigio.<\/p>\n<p>Durante muchos a\u00f1os, el complejo dominicano ha sido uno de los s\u00edmbolos m\u00e1s importantes de la historia del terremoto y hoy renace como centro muse\u00edstico, superado s\u00f3lo por el de Reggio Calabria.<\/p>\n<p>El complejo tambi\u00e9n incluye el Museo de M\u00e1rmoles (acr\u00f3nimo italiano \u00abMuMar\u00bb), donde de particular valor es la obra Cabeza de Santa Catalina de Siena, realizada en m\u00e1rmol de Carrara, probablemente atribuida a Gian Lorenzo Bernini.<\/p>\n<p>Adem\u00e1s del \u00abMuTerr\u00bb, otros tres museos se encuentran en construcci\u00f3n: el de Cer\u00e1mica, el de Artes Sacras y una galer\u00eda de Arte Contempor\u00e1neo.<\/p>\n<p>El MuTerr representa un atractivo lugar de encuentro e informaci\u00f3n sobre los terremotos, no s\u00f3lo de la regi\u00f3n de Calabria, sino de todo el pa\u00eds. Los fen\u00f3menos s\u00edsmicos se analizan desde diferentes perspectivas: hist\u00f3rica, antropol\u00f3gica y arquitect\u00f3nica.<\/p>\n<p>Gracias a esta restauraci\u00f3n, otra parte importante de este complejo ha salido a la luz, que hasta ahora hab\u00eda permanecido \u00abescondido\u00bb y nunca hab\u00eda sido utilizado.<\/p>\n<p>Todos los antiguos espacios arquitect\u00f3nicos del ala suroeste, com\u00fanmente llamados \u00abOscuros\u00bb, testimonio de lo que fue la mayor \u00abcat\u00e1strofe mortal\u00bb causada por el terremoto de 1783, son ahora accesibles en el MuTerr y pueden ser utilizados para exposiciones temporales, diversos eventos culturales o convenciones.<\/p>\n<p>El museo tiene dos ambientes bien diferenciados: el visitante es recibido en una zona moderna, marcada por la instalaci\u00f3n de un techo suspendido compuesto por monumentales costillas de madera, creado mediante procesos digitales de dise\u00f1o param\u00e9trico y cortado con m\u00e1quinas CNC.<\/p>\n<p>El techo es una verdadera pieza de arte que recuerda la onda y el movimiento fugaz del terremoto y que envuelve visualmente al visitante en un lugar agresivo y din\u00e1mico.<\/p>\n<p>El techo fue dise\u00f1ado seccionando una \u00abonda s\u00edsmica\u00bb en m\u00e1s de mil piezas. Las mismas est\u00e1n encastradas entre s\u00ed a presi\u00f3n y colgadas con tensores de acero de las vigas ancladas a los muros perimetrales del recinto. El corte y la preparaci\u00f3n para la fabricaci\u00f3n digital se han realizado con el software Rhino\/Grasshopper.<\/p>\n<p>Desde esta zona luminosa, el visitante es conducido hacia los llamados espacios \u00abOscuros\u00bb, caracterizado por un ambiente m\u00e1s intimista, tranquilo y contemplativo.<\/p>\n<p>Caracter\u00edstica de esta segunda sala son los techos abovedados, cuyo encanto hace que se destaque del piso de resina blanca. The Convent, formerly called \u00abCasa Santa\u00bb, has been the focus of the \u00abDominican Universe\u00bb, having had the important support of many popes, cardinals and kings of Spain and Naples. Since 1654, the \u00abHoly House\u00bb has administered the County of Soriano and therefore its sphere of economic influence, culture and society has greatly contributed to the development of the surrounding areas and settlements. Internally there were a guest house, a pharmacy, a printing house and a well-stocked library, which still exists and that contains many prestigious volumes.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>For many years, the Dominican complex has been one of the most important symbols of the earthquake history and today it is reborn as a museum center, second only to that of Reggio Calabria. The complex also includes the Museum of Marbles (Italian acronym \u00abMumar\u00bb) where of particular value is the Head of Saint Catherine of Siena, in Carrara marble, probably attributed to Gian Lorenzo Bernini. Besides the \u00abMuTerr\u00bb, other three museums are under construction: those of Ceramics, Sacred Arts and an art gallery of Contemporary Art.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>The MuTerr represents an attractive meeting and information place on earthquakes, not only of the Calabria Region, but of the entire country. The earthquake phenomena are analysed from different perspectives: historical, anthropological and architectural.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Thanks to this restoration, another important part of this complex, which remained so far \u00abhidden\u00bb and never used, has been brought to light. All the ancient architectural spaces of the southwestern wing, commonly called the \u00abDarks\u00bb, testimony of what was once the most \u00abdeadly catastrophe\u00bb caused by the earthquake of 1783, are now accessible in the \u00abMuTerr\u00bb and can be used for temporary exhibitions, different cultural events or conventions.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>The Museum has two distinct environments: the visitor is welcomed in a modern area, marked by the installation of a suspended ceiling monumental wooden ribs, created with digital processes of parametric design and cut with CNC machines. The ceiling is a true piece of art that recalls the wave and fleeting movement of the earthquake and which visually envelops the visitor in an aggressive and dynamic place.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>The ceiling was designed by sectioning a \u00abseismic wave\u00bb in more than thousand pieces, snap-fit assembled by attacks and steel cables to the IPE beams which are anchored to the perimeter walls. Cutting and preparation for digital manufacturing have been created with Rhino\/Grasshopper software.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>From this bright area, the visitor is then conducted in the \u00abDarks\u00bb, characterized instead by a charming, calmer and contemplative atmosphere. Feature of this second room are the vaulted ceilings, whose charm has made it stand out from the white resin flooring. Al proprio interno sono state attive un foresteria, la farmacia, la stamperia ed una fornitissima biblioteca, ancora esistente con numerosi e prestigiosi volumi.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Per anni il Complesso Domenicano \u00e8 stato uno dei simboli pi\u00f9 importanti della storia di quell&#8217;evento sismico e oggi rinasce come polo museale, secondo solo a quello di Reggio Calabria. Da qualche anno all&#8217;interno del complesso \u00e8 aperto il Museo dei Marmi &#8211; MuMar, dove di particolare pregio si trova la Testa di\u00a0Santa Caterina\u00a0da Siena, in marmo di Carrara, attribuita quasi sicuramente alla mano di Gian Lorenzo\u00a0Bernini. Oltre al MuTerr sono in fase di allestimento altri 3 musei: della Ceramica, dell&#8217;Arte Sacra ed una Pinacoteca di Arte Contemporanea.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Il MuTerr rappresenta un suggestivo luogo d&#8217;incontro e di informazione sui fenomeni sismici, non solo della Calabria, ma dell&#8217;intero Paese, raccontati da diverse prospettive: storica, antropologica e architettonica.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Con il recupero si \u00e8 portata alla luce un&#8217; altra parte importante di questo complesso, finora rimasta\u00a0\u00abnascosta\u00bb e mai utilizzata. Tutti gli antichi spazi architettonici dell&#8217;ala sud-ovest, volgarmente detti \u00abScuri\u00bb, testimonianza di quella che fu la pi\u00f9 \u00abfunesta catastrofe\u00bb causata dal terremoto del 1783, sono oggi fruibili nell&#8217;ambito del MuTerr e potranno servire anche per esposizioni temporanee di mostre, eventi culturali di vario genere o convegni.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Il Museo \u00e8 caratterizzato da due ambienti distinti: il visitatore \u00e8 accolto all&#8217;interno di un&#8217;area moderna, contraddistinta dall&#8217;installazione di una controsoffittatura monumentale a costoloni lignei, creata con processi digitali di progettazione parametrica e tagliata con macchine a controllo numerico. Il soffitto \u00e8 una vera e propria opera d&#8217;arte che richiama il movimento ondulatorio e labile proprio del terremoto e che avvolge visivamente il visitatore in un luogo aggressivo e dinamico.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>La controsoffittatura \u00e8 stata progettata sezionando un \u00abonda sismica\u00bb in pi\u00f9 di mille pezzi assemblati ad incastro ed appesi tramite attacchi e cavi d&#8217;acciaio a delle travi IPE ancorate alle pareti perimetrali. Il sezionamento e la preparazione per la fabbricazione digitale sono stati creati con il software Rhino\/Grasshopper.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Da quest&#8217;area luminosa il visitatore \u00e8 poi condotto negli \u00abscuri\u00bb, contraddistinti invece da un un&#8217;atmosfera suggestiva e da un ambiente pi\u00f9 calmo e riflessivo. Caratteristica di questo secondo ambiente sono le volte a botte, la cui bellezza antica \u00e8 fatta risaltare dalla pavimentazione di resina di colore bianco,pavimentazione continua senza fughe, per dare maggiore valore alla direzionalit\u00e0 delle volte e alle lastre di vetro opaco che coprono l&#8217;incanalamento degli impianti.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>La lunga e complessa riflessione sui terremoti che il MuTerr propone, fra storia e scienza, guarda al passato ma interessa fortemente il futuro, nella convinzione che su questi basi di conoscenza sui fenomeni del terremoto possa crescere
