Proyecto Ganador del Primer Premio Nacional XXI Bienal Panamericana de Arquitectura de Quito 2018 BAQ18 en la Categoria D: Rehabilitacion Arquitectonica. La Tejedora se ha transformado en un ecosistema de emprendimientos locales que se han ido multiplicando y que juntos han dado nueva vida a las antiguas edificaciones que fueron construidas inicialmente para albergar una f\u00e1brica textil. Geogr\u00e1ficamente su ubicaci\u00f3n le permite ser un actor central entre el centro hist\u00f3rico de Cumbay\u00e1, el eje comercial de la Av. (proyectistas)\n\t\t\t\t<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\n<p>En 1947 se fund\u00f3 La Tejedora, f\u00e1brica textil con 5 galpones principales construidos en 10.000 m2 de terreno. Los edificios est\u00e1n construidos con estructuras de hormig\u00f3n armado, mamposter\u00eda y cubiertas ligeras con cerchas met\u00e1licas. La f\u00e1brica dej\u00f3 de funcionar en el 2004, los galpones se convirtieron en bodegas y no fue hasta el 2012 que empez\u00f3 a transformarse en una industria creativa con servicios culturales, deportivos, gastron\u00f3micos, de dise\u00f1o y arte.<\/p>\n<p>El clima c\u00e1lido y templado de Cumbay\u00e1 ha permitido que el l\u00edmite entre el exterior y el interior de los locales sea indeterminado, extendiendo los espacios abiertos que integran la calle a los comercios. En esta frontera tambi\u00e9n se encuentra la vegetaci\u00f3n que da vida a la atm\u00f3sfera de cada espacio convirti\u00e9ndose en un componente importante de la arquitectura del lugar.<\/p>\n<p>La est\u00e9tica industrial de la antigua f\u00e1brica se mantiene en las nuevas intervenciones, donde se ha reciclado las edificaciones y la materialidad existente para crear propuestas diferentes. Los materiales reutilizados resuelven los distintos programas y a la vez crean un lenguaje arquitect\u00f3nico homog\u00e9neo.<\/p>\n<p>El tiempo ha sido factor determinante para el crecimiento del Distrito ya que en los \u00faltimos 4 a\u00f1os alrededor de 90 emprendimientos han invertido capital y tiempo en transformar su propio espacio. En conjunto, todos han creado un ecosistema de emprendedores que se ensamblan para crear un recinto creativo lleno de arte y vegetaci\u00f3n articulados por sus espacios abiertos.<\/p>\n<p>Todos los galpones que conformaban la antigua f\u00e1brica textil se encuentran ocupados por negocios en crecimiento. Esto ha obligado a planificar nuevas etapas de desarrollo para lograr un Distrito Creativo sostenible. Actualmente se encuentra en ejecuci\u00f3n una sala polivalente para espect\u00e1culos, un espacio que impulsar\u00e1 a\u00fan m\u00e1s la cultura dentro del Distrito.<\/p>\n<p>La siguiente etapa contempla la colonizaci\u00f3n de la cubierta del edificio frontal que con un sistema de construcci\u00f3n ligero plantea crear 2000 m2 adicionales para un ecosistema de tecnolog\u00eda con talleres y laboratorios de I+D, que en conjunto con una facilidad acad\u00e9mica, generen innovaci\u00f3n alineados a la revoluci\u00f3n industrial 4.0.<\/p>\n<p>Despu\u00e9s de consolidarse puertas adentro, el recinto estar\u00e1 obligado a expandirse y eliminar las barreras actuales para aportar con sus \u00e1reas p\u00fablicas a la red de infraestructura verde de Cumbay\u00e1. La Tejedora es un proyecto que busca crear mejoras a su entorno inmediato, convertirse en un referente y crear ciudad.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Veredicto del jurado<\/strong><br \/>\nUn jurado de expertos internacionales otorg\u00f3 el premio al rescate de las naves industriales de mediana escala de esta antigua f\u00e1brica textil, convertida hoy en un ecosistema de emprendimiento que genera nuevos espacios colectivos con diferentes usos. Pata de Gallo comprende este proceso de reciclaje y transformaci\u00f3n de las estructuras existentes como un potencial espacio din\u00e1mico, creativo y polifuncional, capaz de ser abordado en diferentes fases y distintas escalas. El proyecto no solo se centra en la rehabilitaci\u00f3n arquitect\u00f3nica, sino que plantea un proceso de integraci\u00f3n social y urbana que convierte al sitio en un catalizador capaz de influenciar positivamente a su entorno. Geogr\u00e1ficamente su ubicaci\u00f3n le permite ser un actor central entre el centro hist\u00f3rico de Cumbay\u00e1, el eje comercial de la Av.
