La Casa Sin Huella (CSH) est\u00e1 ubicada a lo largo de la costa sur del Pac\u00edfico de Costa Rica, en el borde de su ic\u00f3nica Bah\u00eda Ballena y las vastas selvas tropicales de la regi\u00f3n. Ubicado en un clima tropical h\u00famedo, el dise\u00f1o del edificio responde a su h\u00e1bitat circundante mediante el control pasivo del clima a trav\u00e9s de la ventilaci\u00f3n natural y la m2)\n\t\t\t\t<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\n<p>Est\u00e1 construido alrededor de un n\u00facleo de servicios central, que incluye toda la maquinaria y l\u00edneas de servicio de la casa, as\u00ed como ba\u00f1os, armarios, cocina y \u00e1rea de lavado. La compresi\u00f3n de utilidades en una unidad compacta permite un plan libre a su alrededor. Adem\u00e1s, contribuye a la econom\u00eda de la casa en t\u00e9rminos de montaje y mantenimiento. Piezas de mobiliario adicionales se colocan en la envoltura de doble capa del edificio, que se crea por las columnas estructurales verticales y las fachadas exteriores inclinadas.<\/p>\n<p>La inclinaci\u00f3n responde a la luz solar entrante en las horas m\u00e1s calurosas del d\u00eda. Los paneles de fachada pueden abrirse o cerrarse individualmente para regular vistas y exposici\u00f3n, aumentar o reducir los flujos de aire, crear privacidad y seguridad. Convierten espacios interiores a exteriores y juegan con la din\u00e1mica interior-exterior de la arquitectura tropical.<\/p>\n<p>La casa de Ojochal contiene dos dormitorios, sala de estar y comedor combinados, as\u00ed como una serie de \u00e1reas multifuncionales entre los espacios privados totalmente cerrados. Seg\u00fan la elecci\u00f3n del cliente, est\u00e1 construida con una estructura de acero flotante y acabados de madera. Est\u00e1 conectada a la red de servicios p\u00fablicos, que es alimentado por energ\u00edas renovables. Solamente el agua se calienta localmente a trav\u00e9s de la energ\u00eda solar que se cosecha en la parte superior del edificio.<\/p>\n<p>La casa fue prefabricada en el Valle Central de Costa Rica y se envi\u00f3 al sitio de destino durante la noche en un solo cami\u00f3n. Se ha desarrollado como un prototipo para la producci\u00f3n en serie, que se basa en una amplia caja de herramientas de tipolog\u00edas residenciales. Cada tipolog\u00eda se configura a partir de un cat\u00e1logo de componentes prefabricados, el primero de su tipo en Centroam\u00e9rica.<\/p>\n<p>En su fase inicial, la CSH vendr\u00e1 en tres tama\u00f1os diferentes que pueden configurarse personalmente con respecto a los acabados de materiales y el nivel de servicios deseado: desde diminutos (36 m2) hasta medianos (81 m2) y hogares familiares (108 m2). Una configuraci\u00f3n completamente autosuficiente es posible para ubicaciones fuera de la red. La oferta responde a los requisitos del mercado local, proporcionando viviendas \u00abastenibles\u00bb (asequibles y sostenibles) para individuos, as\u00ed como para familias peque\u00f1as y grandes.<\/p>\n<p>Las diferentes tipolog\u00edas de construcci\u00f3n se pueden ensamblar, desensamblar y volver a montar en cualquier lugar, seg\u00fan las necesidades espec\u00edficas del usuario y el sitio de destino. El proyecto responde al concepto de estilo de vida n\u00f3mada y adaptable, que est\u00e1 habilitado por una m\u00e1xima flexibilidad a trav\u00e9s del dise\u00f1o.<\/p>\n<p>La selecci\u00f3n de todos los componentes y materiales del edificio se basa en una investigaci\u00f3n detallada sobre origen, procesamiento y rendimiento ambiental. Placed in a humid tropical climate, the building design responds to its surrounding habitat by passive climate control through natural ventilation and solar shading.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>It is built around a central service core, which includes all machinery and service lines of the house, as well as bathrooms, closets, kitchen, and laundry area. The compression of utilities in one compact unit enables an open floor plan around it. Moreover, it contributes to the economy of the house in terms of assembly and maintenance. Additional furniture pieces are positioned in the double-layered envelope of the building, which is created by the vertical structural columns and the inclined outer fa\u00e7ades.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>The inclination responds to the incoming sunlight in the hottest hours of the day. The fa\u00e7ade panels can be opened or closed individually to regulate views and exposure, augment or reduce air flows, create privacy and security. They convert interior to exterior spaces and play with the indoor-outdoor dynamic of tropical architecture.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>The Ojochal house contains two bedrooms, a combined living and dining area, as well as a series of multifunctional areas in between the fully enclosable private spaces. According to the choice of the client, it is built with a floating steel structure and wooden finishes. It is plugged into the public service grid, which is powered by renewable energies. Only water is heated locally through solar power that is harvested on top of the building.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>The house was prefabricated in the Central Valley of Costa Rica and shipped to the target site overnight on one single truck. It has been developed as a prototype for serial production, which is based on a larger toolbox of residential typologies. Each typology is configured from a catalogue of prefabricated components, the first of its kind in Central America.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>In its initial phase, the NFH will come in three different sizes that can be auto-configured with regards to material finishes and the desired level of services: from tiny (36 m2) to mid-size (81 m2) and family home (108 m2). A fully auto-sufficient configuration is possible for off-grid locations. The offer responds to the local market requirements, providing \u00abattainable\u00bb (affordable and sustainable) homes for individuals as well as small and big families.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>The different building typologies can be assembled, disassembled and reassembled anywhere, depending on the specific needs of user and target site. The project responds to the concept of nomadic and adaptable lifestyle, which is enabled by a maximum amount of flexibility through design.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>The selection of all building components and materials are based on a thorough investigation regarding their origin, processing, and environmental performance. It is designed to blend with its natural surroundings and to minimize the impact of construction on the environment.
