Casa Mecha (Castelar, Pcia. de Buenos Aires, Argentina) por Grupo CRBN. Casa Mecha se proyecta a partir de la idea de crear un refugio introspectivo en un entorno suburbano de impronta regional, una vivienda pensada para ofrecer privacidad, luz y serenidad en un lote acotado, entre medianeras. La inspiración surge de la necesidad de construir un oasis interior, una casa que se protege del exterior y organiza su vida alrededor de un patio que actúa como corazón espacial y climático dentro del lugar.
El proyecto explora la noción de introspección como estrategia arquitectónica. En lugar de abrirse hacia la calle, la casa se orienta hacia un vacío interior que estructura la circulación, ilumina los ambientes y define la identidad doméstica. La vivienda funciona como un refugio urbano: un espacio contenido, luminoso y silencioso, donde la vida cotidiana se desarrolla en torno a un microclima propio.
El lote de 10×20 metros, entre medianeras y rodeado por construcciones irregulares, planteó el desafío de garantizar iluminación, ventilación y privacidad sin depender del frente urbano. La respuesta fue trabajar con el vacío, a modo de gran patio, generando una arquitectura que respira hacia el interior.
Para lograrlo, la vivienda se resuelve mediante una estructura de hormigón visto de grandes luces, con pocos apoyos y una presencia material contundente. Este sistema posibilita espacios amplios y flexibles, y define la expresión arquitectónica del proyecto.
La materialidad se completa con madera y vidrio, que equilibran la robustez del hormigón con calidez y transparencia. La luz natural, filtrada desde el patio y las claraboyas, suaviza la textura del hormigón y potencia la atmósfera interior.
La casa se organiza en dos niveles con funciones claramente diferenciadas. En planta baja, un espacio social flexible -acceso, cochera y galería/quincho- puede abrirse o cerrarse según el clima y el uso, funcionando como área de encuentro sin comprometer la intimidad del hogar.
En el nivel superior, se desarrolla la vida doméstica: estar, cocina, comedor, dormitorios y baños, todos articulados por el patio central. Esta separación programática permite que la vivienda opere en modo dual, manteniendo independencia entre lo social y lo privado.
Casa Mecha propone una domesticidad introspectiva y luminosa, construida a partir de una estructura precisa, una materialidad honesta y una estrategia espacial que transforma un lote urbano acotado en un refugio contemporáneo.

Casa Mecha is conceived from the idea of creating an introspective refuge within a suburban setting marked by regional character, a home designed to offer privacy, light, and serenity on a compact, party-wall lot. The inspiration emerges from the need to build an interior oasis: a house that shields itself from the outside world and organizes daily life around a patio that acts as the spatial and climatic heart of the project.
The design explores the notion of introspection as an architectural strategy. Instead of opening toward the street, the house turns inward, orienting itself around an interior void that structures circulation, brings light into the rooms, and defines the domestic identity. The home operates as an urban retreat: a contained, luminous, and quiet space where everyday life unfolds around its own microclimate.
The 10×20 meter lot-narrow, enclosed by party walls, and surrounded by irregular constructions-posed the challenge of ensuring natural light, ventilation, and privacy without relying on the street frontage. The response was to work with emptiness, using a large patio as the central void, generating an architecture that breathes inward.
To achieve this, the house is built with an exposed concrete structure spanning large distances, with few supports and a strong material presence. This system enables broad, flexible spaces and defines the architectural expression of the project.
The material palette is completed with wood and glass, balancing the robustness of the concrete with warmth and transparency. Natural light, filtered through the patio and skylights, softens the concrete texture and enhances the interior atmosphere.
The house is organized into two levels with clearly differentiated functions.
On the ground floor, a flexible social space-entry, garage, and gallery/quincho, can open or close depending on climate and use, functioning as a gathering area without compromising the privacy of the home.
On the upper level, domestic life unfolds: living room, kitchen, dining area, bedrooms, and bathrooms, all articulated around the central patio. This programmatic separation allows the house to operate in a dual mode, maintaining independence between social and private realms.
Casa Mecha proposes a luminous, introspective domesticity, built from a precise structure, an honest materiality, and a spatial strategy that transforms a compact urban lot into a contemporary refuge.
